Rockford Illinois is home to many local and international celebrities. Rockford area celebrities range from singers, bands to super models. Rockford, Illinois also has many local attractions that bring in visitors from around the state.

Rockford is home of the international sensational Rock Band Cheap Trick. The Rockford based band Cheap Trick's members are Rick Nielsen (guitarist and main songwriter), Bun E. Carlos (Brad Carlson), Robin Zander, and Tom Petersson. Rockford based band Cheap Trick's Album Live at Budokan has sold more than 17 million records. Rockford is also home of the Band "The GoodYear Pimps". This Rockford based band has toured with Insane Clown possy and has even been on 2 movie soundtracks including "Mission Impossible 2" and "Crazy Beautiful".

Rockford also bred Tenitra "Michelle" Williams of the International Female Group Destiny's Child. Michelle Williams attended and graduated from Auburn High School Class of 1998.

Also from the Rockford area is the beautiful Super Model Cindy Crawford. Dekalb Illinois is near Rockford Illinois. Cindy graduated valedictorian of DeKalb High (near Rockford) with a 4.0 average. Cindy temporarily went to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University, on scholarship.

Rockford is also home of the Greater Rockford Airport. The Greater Rockford Airport has daily incoming and outgoing flights to national and international destinations. The Greater Rockford Airport has in/out flights from Hooters Air, TransMeridian Airlines (TMA), Vacation Express (VE), SunShip1 Airlines and Northwest Airlines.

Rockford is also home of the MetroCentre and The Coronado Theatre. Rockford's MetroCentre and Coronado Theatre has seen some of the biggest and best acts on stage over the years. Rockford's Metrocenter and Coronado Theatre has seen such acts as CheapTrick, Sammy Davis Jr., Jerry Sienfeld, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Johnny Cash and Phyllis Diller. Rockford's Metrocenter and Coronado Theatre has also seen at least 2 presidents including John F. Kennedy & Ronald Reagan.

Rockford is also home to Alexander Liberman's Sculpture otherwise known as the Rockford Symbol. Symbol is considered by many to be Rockford's landmark.
